After Saturday’s mudder in Zeven, Germany, there was little rest for the muddy and weary in the cyclocross world. Riders sent their bikes to the power washers, hit the showers and then hopped in the van for the 500 km trip to Hamme, Belgium. Such is the life during two-race weekends during prime European cyclocross weather.

Photographer Jeff Curtes joined the riders in making the trip, although he has hung up his Speedvagen for the season, so he was saved the post-race trip to the power washer.

On Sunday, Curtes was in Hamme and again turned his eye on the muddy Flandriencross races.

This photo gallery provides a look at the memorable Women’s race that featured a breakout performance by Ellen Noble (Aspire Racing) and impressive late attack by World Champion Sanne Cant (Beobank-Corendon) and the Men’s race that starred the latest dominant performance by Mathieu van der Poel (Beobank-Corendon).

Our growing collection of galleries from Curtes is available in the archives.
