Westerners often think of European cyclocross as top-level UCI racing packed with spectators, crowd fencing, and professional racers’ campers.
Watching Italy’s Villarocca (Rockville) singlespeed cyclocross race, you realize that there are exceptions to that rule. Not unlike participants at a SSCXWC event, a group of cyclocrossers in Italy also know how to race one gear, share beverages, and focus on fun. And there doesn’t seem to be any ink-related controversies.
We’ve reported on this singlespeeder’s bucket list event last year, and have shown our readers the initial trailer video, but last month Martino Vincenzi released his full video of the 2014 Villarocca singlespeed cyclocross event (the 2015 event already happened in January). The result above is worth the wait. It’s a beauty worth watching if you’re into mud, cyclocross, singlespeeding, looking at things through pink and blue lenses, or just having a good time.
