2016 Cyclocross World Champion Wout van Aert (Crelan Vastegoedservice) continued his winning ways in the U.S. with his come-from-behind victory at the 2016 ClifBar CrossVegas World Cup. In doing so, van Aert extended his undefeated streak in America to three Elite Men’s wins since finishing third in Louisville in the U23 race at the 2013 Cyclocross World Championships.

Former U23 CalGiant cyclocross racer Chance Noble caught up with van Aert after he defended his 2015 win in Vegas to hear about his preparation to start the season and defend his CrossVegas title, his “painful crash on the stairs,” and his plans to attack.

“I’m happy with the win, but it would be better without that stupid crash.”

“I’m in really good shape and I’ll try to keep it during the season…preparation went well, I’m happy to be here in the United States, now it’s my second victory out of two [this season] and I’ll try to make it three in Iowa.” -Wout van Aert after his 2016 CrossVegas win
