When we spoke with Maghalie Rochette (Specialized / Feedback Sports) earlier this summer, she said a big goal for this season was racing well at the U.S. World Cups.

What she did not share is that she had a dream for Saturday’s Jingle Cross World Cup—sharing a podium with friend, mentor and former teammate Katerina Nash (Clif Pro Team).

On Saturday, that dream came true. Rochette got perhaps a bit overexcited early, attacking in Lap 2, but then in a group with Nash and Clara Honsinger (Team S&M CX), Rochette used her summer training on a ski hill near her Quebec home she nicknamed “Mt. Krumpit” to dash up the run-up and get a gap in the penultimate lap she would not give up.

When Nash followed her in a close second, Rochette’s World Cup dream came true.
