Iowa local David Mable caught up with Caroline Mani (Raleigh Clement) for a quick interview, and discussed her season goals and her hopes of swapping her French National Champion jersey for the white and red of the World Cup leader’s jersey.

Mani enters the season fresh, rested and motivated, and it seems to already be paying off.

“I haven’t raced a lot this year, we’ve done a different approach to just be fully rested. Last year was really intense, stressful, mentally and physically. I’m pretty excited about Vegas. My goal was top five, and I got top five.”

After winning a silver medal at the 2016 Cyclocross World Championships in Zolder, Mani has her sights set on some international goals. After a fifth at the 2016 CrossVegas and a second at the 2016 Jingle Cross World Cup, Mani seems well on her way towards a successful season.

“This year is a bit different. Considering my result last year, we decided that it will be time to do all the World Cups and why not chase the jersey.

Mable also had some fun with Mani in asking her about her preferences on sports, weather, social media, animals, vehicles and more.

If there was any doubt the Colorado-based French racer is leaning more American than French, she seems to settle that with her answers in the interview. Have a watch in the video below. (Please note, Caroline Mani is not a cat lady. She’s too young to be one, she says.)

After once again achieving her goal at her second consecutive World Cup at Jingle Cross, Zachary Schuster caught up with Mani. Mani replays some of her thoughts during the race, and why this podium as particularly special for her and her companions (Katie Compton and Kaitie Antonneau). Have a watch below:
