Sint Michielsgestal, Belgium – Marianne Vos (Nederland bloeit) won the Elite Women’s race today at the GP Richard Groenendaal. Vos won with a lead of almost 1:30 over Sanne van Paassen (ZZPR). Van Paassen’s teammate Reza Hormes-Ravenstijn (ZZPR) completed the podium in third. Sophie de Boer and Rebecca Talen filled out the top five.
With a women’s race at the Fidea cyclocross in Tervuren today as well, the race didn’t have the deepest field, but still provided some exciting action. ZZPR’s Reza Hormes-Ravenstijn took the holeshot followed by Marianne Vos, Sanne van Paassen, Rebecca Talen and Sophie de Boer.
The field stayed together for almost two laps before Marianne Vos attacked and left her compatriots behind. Lap by lap, Vos increased her lead over her competitors and didn’t made any mistakes en route to her second win of the weekend. She also brought home the win in Pétange on Friday.
