Yesterday, the 2015 edition of the famous Paris-Roubaix went underway, with John Degenkolb of Giant-Alpecin besting cyclocross legends Zdeněk Štybar and Lars Boom in the velodrome. The race is so iconic, it has inspired legions of gravel races, including Michigan’s Barry Roubaix, Louisiana’s Rouge Roubaix, and most recently, Oregon’s Gorge Roubaix race weekend.

The video above, posted on Vimeo by DroneScape Media Consulting, shows the 75-mile gravel course, complete with 6120 feet of climbing. While the course is 60% pavement, two long stretches of gravel push the limits of riders totaling over 30 miles.  Like Paris-Roubaix, the race is held over a gorgeous countryside, although also like Paris-Roubaix, most riders will be unable to enjoy these scenic views as they are punishing themselves through the course.
