The season isn’t over just because a few red white and blue jerseys were handed out in the high desert of Oregon. Our scientific research shows that more than half of you want to keep racing, and although promoters met in Bend to discuss extending the season and moving Nats to January, you don’t have to wait until that happens to enjoy some warm, late-season cyclocross. Are you really going to earn a UCI point anyway? Without the UCI, race entry fees should be cheaper, and more money should go back to the racers. And if you’re lucky, a top pro or fast old guy or gal might show up anyway in preparation for Worlds or Masters Worlds.

A quick look at our super-comprehensive calendar shows over 25 races remaining this month and in January. Here are a few highlights:

Take the family for a warm and sunny vacation race just a few minutes from South Beach at Miami Cross on January 9th and 10th. Your race entry fee includes a Saturday BBQ and Sunday waffles!

After Miami, take a quick flight over to Texas to see what the cyclocross festival craze is all about and spend Martin Luther King weekend in Austin to race the Lone Star Cyclocross Festival on January 16-17th.

Or you can do like newly-crowned National Champion Tim Johnson, and prep for world domination and head to California to tackle the long-standing Surf City cyclocross racing in Santa Cruz.

Take your pick, or find a race closer to home.
