The first weekend of American cyclocross, starting before Labor Day this year, is officially over, with Vincent Baestaens (BKCP) soloing to victory in the Men’s Elite Race and Meredith Miller (Noosa Professional Cyclocross Team) edging Kaitlin Antonneau (Cannondale p/b Cyclocrossworld.com) during the second day of Ellison Park (you can find the full results of the Women’s Elite Race here and the Men’s Elite Race here).

We caught up with Meredith Miller and Kaitlin Antonneau after their race to recap the weekend and see how they contended with the heat and climbing. Both of them captured a win and a second place this weekend, so we were sure to see how their thoughts were going into the first World Cup event hosted in the United States.

In the Men’s Elite Race, Americans Dan Timmerman (Stan’s NoTubes) and Cameron Dodge (No Team [we’re surprised year after year, too]) battled for the second half of the race in second place, with Timmerman eventually falling back. The big surprise of the day was Drew Dillman (Cyclocross Network), who shocked the Men’s Elite field by capturing a podium.

All three interviews are listed below, with a photo slider at the bottom recapping the second day.
