The opportunities for young female cyclocross racers keep expanding. Not only is there now a rainbow jersey up for grabs at the sport’s highest level, there is a growing number of development camps open for young talent to develop skills and get access to top-level coaching.

Euro Cross Camp has added women racers in recent years, Geoff Proctor’s Montana Cross Camp has expanded to add a women’s camp with Kaitie Antonneau as a guest coach, and now Ellen Noble has organized her own camp for young women, held July 6-11.

Noble notes the suggested age range of her camp is ages 14-19, but explains “this is just a suggestion” and welcomes racers (or their parents) outside this range to apply. “If you feel that your daughter would be a great fit for the camp, but is out of the suggested age range — please contact me.”

The price for the camp is $700, for a 6-day, 5-night camp in Western Massachusetts. The camp includes:

  • Housing, food, and transportation for the week.
  • Mechanical services.
  • An ever-growing goodie bag for the campers
  • Ice cream & snack stops on rides
  • An endless supply of information from some of the best resources out there

Noble says that the profits from the 2017 Camp will go towards scholarships for 2018. The camp currently has two spots left, and registration closes at the end of this month. Noble warns, “Please be mindful of the registration cut-off. If there are not enough campers by this time, certain changes need to be made so please register soon!”
