Cyclocross season in nearly every part of the country is well underway, and we’re psyched that we’re overflowing with race reports, product news and reviews and interviews. But unfortunately we’re nearly drowning in that content and are seeking a part-time online editor or online editing interns to set this pile of cyclocross content free.

Job description below:

We’re looking for a reliable, enthusiastic online editor with great attention to detail to help expand Cyclocross Magazine’s leadership in online cyclocross content. You’ll get a chance to be the very first person to learn of cyclocross news and new products, view race results and reports, and improve the lives of mud-loving cyclists throughout the world by spreading ‘cross information and joy.

Responsibilities will include:

-editing and publishing race reports, product news, reviews, press releases and interviews
-editing and resizing photos
-writing photo captions and original content
-publishing print archive content
-managing our online editorial calendar
-contributing towards social media channels
-testing new website features and improving our online experience
-in-person and live race coverage (optional)

Requirements:

-expertise in editing, familiarity of AP-style
-extreme attention to detail
-proactive working and communication style, complete self-starter
-familiarity with HTML, blogging, and social media
-familiarity with Photoshop
-creative problem solver
-dependable and reliable
-cyclocross passion

Time commitment:

We are open to filling this position with one individual or two interns. Position can be remote but local candidates enjoy more benefits like weekly rides and free lunches.

-needed for minimum three hours per day, three to five days a week, Sunday and Saturday evenings highly desirable
-exact schedule is flexible but needs to be recurring every week and will include one weekly phone call
-position is open and available to start immediately

Compensation:

-compensation is commensurate with experience and availability, and may be in the form of a stipend, hourly wage, contributions towards your 700c fund, help with bling gear you thought you couldn’t afford, or course credit.
-you won’t get rich in a monetary sense but will in a life sense.
