Christophe Pfingsten (CT De Rijke) and Marianne Vos (Nederland Bloeit) soloed to their respective wins in International Rad-Cross in Frankfurt, Germany. In the men’s race, Pfingsten dominated from start to finish to win with more than a 20 seconds lead over his compatriot Sascha Weber. Tsjech David Kasek completed the podium, followed by Jan Nesvadba and Swiss racer Simon Zahner. The race was held on the Bornheimer Hang. As you can see in the name, if you speak German, it was a tough course, constantly going up and down. Due to the rain, the course was wet and muddy, and the descents were tricky.
In the women’s race, World Champion Marianne Vos took her second win of the season out of her only three starts. In the Koksijde World Cup, her first race of the season, she finished in second. Vos dominated, just as Pfingsten, from start to finish. The battle for second was more interesting between Lucie Chainel, Hanka Kupfernagel, Pauline Ferrand Prevot and young German Sabrina Schweizer. Halfway through the race Chainel left the others behind for second. Kupfernagel hold off the youngster for third.
