Carl Decker (Giant) had an impressive trip to the 2014 Qiansen Trophy C1 Cyclocross Race in Yanqing, China, and despite the adversity, also had an strong ride in the race to finish fifth. Many of you were impressed with his ride, noting that “you can’t buy speed,” “When life hands you lemons…. go harder!” and “In a t-shirt? That is stellar. Move over disc brakes, we have a new trend this season.”

Decker almost regretted the trip, saying, “Yesterday things looked pretty bad, not having my stuff…even this morning, I was just like, man, I wish I was home. When I was in the hotel, I didn’t have a razor, and I cut this shit out of my face with these bathroom razors, and I was like, this sucks. Warming up and I’m sweating and my face is stinging. I’ll look up on this day in hindsight and think it was super fun.”
