Last January, Bob Downs of Belleville, WI took home the Stars-and-Stripes jersey at U.S. Cyclocross Nationals in Hartford.
On Friday, he took his red, white and blue show on the road to Mol, Belgium for the 2017 Cyclocross Masters Worlds and came home with a second-place finish.

Finishing ahead of Downs and taking the rainbow jersey was Robin Delve of Great Britain.
The top ten featured several other British and American riders. Jay Thornton of Laguna Beach, CA finished just off the podium in fourth. Brit Peter Harris took sixth. Harris was followed by several Americans, including George Smith of Menlo Park, CA in seventh, Thomas Hayles of Aspen, CO in eighth and Jim Gentes of Soquel, CA.
