While some attempted various Feats of Strength around Philadelphia (think running up the steps, Rocky-style, with your bike), others tried their luck at Bilenky Junkyard ’Cross, a staple of the Philadelphia race scene. With bigger fields and the all-important SSCXWC Qualifier field added to the list, race times dwindled to mere minutes as heats went off throughout the day to determine finalists. 30 slots in the SS men’s category for tomorrow’s race were awarded, and women raced for the sake of racing, since the women’s field, while jam-packed with talent, isn’t the same volume as the men’s.
