Antonneau and Powers Win First American UCI Cyclocross of the Year at Ellison Park: 2015 Day One Results

Kaitlin Antonneau and Jeremy Powers both won against the deepest fields that Ellison Park Cyclocross p/b Full Moon Vista in Rochester, NY, has ever seen in its history as a UCI host.

In a day defined by the heat and climbing, plenty of racers needed to keep themselves in check, and the riders at the front of the race at the end took conservative approaches to pull away from the pack.

Powers (Aspire) started another domestic C1 winning streak, but had a determined follower in Dan Timmerman (NoTubes). See Powers and Timmerman’s  post-race interviews after Ellison Park Day 1 here.

Tech notes:

• Jeremy Powers rode a cantilever-equipped Focus Mares on the climb and descent-heavy course.
• Dan Timmerman rode tubeless clinchers and his sponsor’s rims, and finished 14 seconds down on FMB tubular-equipped Powers.
