2022 will be Maasmechelen’s first time hosting a UCI Cyclocross World Cup. UCI announced the change at the start of the season that Maasmechelen (Belgium) will be replacing Rucphen (The Netherlands).
Elite Women
Unfortunately Lucinda Brand (Baloise Trek Lions) will not be able to race due to her broken hand.
Sad news. European champion 🦁 @lucinda_brand crashed during the recon of the 🇨🇿 Tabor World Cup parcours earlier today. She has a fracture of the right metacarpal and will be out for unknown time 😢 pic.twitter.com/8VXBpI6aBu

However, with one competitor down and recovering, a new challenger arises. Marianne Vos (Team Jumbo-Visma) will be attending her first UCI Cyclocross World Cup this season. Will Fem van Empel (Pauwels Sauzen – Bingoal) be able to maintain her winning streak?
Only one American will be attending the race.
- Clara Honsinger (Ef Education – Tibco – Svb)
Two Canadians will be attending the race.
- Christiane Bilodeau
- Sidney Mcgill
Elite Men
Lars van der Haar (Baloise Trek Lions) gave Eli Iserbyt (Pauwels Sauzen – Bingoal) quite the challenge in Tabor, keeping Iserbyt on his toes. Will Van der Haar be able to overtake Iserbyt and be Maasmechelen’s first UCI Cyclocross World Cup winner? Or will Iserbyt continue his reign of domination and take that title for himself?
Cameron Jette will be the only Canadian and North American to race in the Maasmechelen’s first UCI Cyclocross World Cup.
