The UCI Cyclocross World Cup ventured into the Netherlands for the Hulst World Cup, the 13th stop. The course is famous for its steep ups and downs and its iconic windmill that the racers ride through.
While the race was missing Saturday's animator Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado, Marianne Vos was there to grab the holeshot and stretch out the pack on the first lap.

While Vos crashed on a descent, relinquishing her lead for good, Puck Pieterse seized the lead and looked to be in control of both the Elite Women's and U23 Women's win.

But World Champ Lucinda Brand rode a patient race. While she downplayed her chances before the race, saying the "explosive" course was not her strength, she was explosive enough to get by Pieterse and power away.

While all the attention has been on Wout van Aert's undefeated win streak, Lucinda Brand has been absolutely dominant this season and leads the World Cup.

Maghalie Rochette, in 16th, led a big group of 15 North Americans in Hulst.
