Yesterday, we reported on rumors that the 2022 Cyclocross World Championships would be heading to Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Sometimes, it turns out, rumors are true.
Today, the UCI annouced that Fayetteville has been awarded the 2022 Cyclocross World Championships.
The 2022 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships have been awarded to Fayetteville, Arkansas, in the United States. The decision marks the return of the biggest annual event in the discipline to a country that last held the UCI World Championships in 2013, in Louisville, Kentucky.
World Cups Return to the U.S.
Also included in the press release from the UCI is word that both the Jingle Cross and Waterloo World Cups will be returning in 2019. Jingle Cross will take place on September 14 and World Cup Waterloo will be on September 22.
