The 2021 USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships is coming to DuPage County, Illinois! Here is all the essential event info from USA Cycling.

Welcome to the 2021 USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships. After a pandemic hiatus, we are excited to bring you this year’s National Championship in DuPage County, Ill., at Cantigny Park.

We have worked hard with our partners to provide an amazing National Championship experience with what may be a surprisingly challenging course here in DuPage County. We’d like to thank our local and event-specific partners for their support:

  • DuPage County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau & Sports Commission
  • Cantigny Park
  • Shimano
  • ABUS
  • The Pony Shop
  • New Belgium
  • Muc-Off
  • Garmin

As you have read, Cyclocross Nationals has a gate/parking fee for all riders and spectators 11 and over. This fee goes directly to our local organizing committee to help offset the expense of the event. A large portion of these fees goes toward grounds repair. You can find details about the entry process in the link to the tech guide below.

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

We remain vigilant in our caution and mitigation for the COVID-19 virus. Therefore, we will be following the event protocol found at the link below. Please ensure you read through and follow while onsite and in any indoor space associated with the event.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU ARRIVE

Upon arriving at Cantigny Park, all persons in your vehicle must show the entrance gate an admission wristband. Please follow signed directions and/or volunteer and staff instructions for parking.

Please ensure that you head to registration before coming to the venue; otherwise, you will be turned around to pick up your wristband. Monday’s registration/packet pickup will be at the Sheraton Lisle, and all other days will be at Cantigny Golf Course. With your venue wristband, you have access to the First Division Museum and Cantigny Park grounds at no additional cost and will receive a 15% discount at Two Brothers Brewing, http://twobrothersbrewing.com/, Tuesday through Sunday.

While you are allowed to ride on the course, there is no riding on the grounds outside the designated course, including crossing from the north parking lot to the south parking lot across the parade grounds. This is extremely important for all riders to adhere to as we are guests at Cantigny Park.

This year, five lucky pre-registered riders will be chosen randomly to receive a ticket to the coveted golden portable restroom. These riders will have exclusive access to the golden portable restroom, where they will enjoy random fun eye candy and freebies each day. Be sure to check your race packet for your ticket with the unique combo on it.

Please remember to wear your race number while pre-riding the course, as it helps us identify anyone in case of an emergency. For riders 14 and under, parents/guardians can pick up a plate that allows access to the course during practices only.

As the National Governing Body for cycling in America, USA Cycling is required to comply with the Safe Sport Authorization Act and will be implementing a new procedure for Saturday’s 11-12, 13-14, and 15-16 races to comply with Center policies to keep our minor athletes safe. Any person supporting an athlete in these age groups in the pit will be required to submit their name and email address through the link below. All Sunday UCI races will do the same later in the week.

CANTIGNY PARK

For entry to Cantigny Park, everyone 11 and older must purchase an event wristband, granting entrance and parking for the entire week of the event, December 6-12. Ten and under are free and will receive a commemorative wristband for ease of entrance.

Please be mindful that Cantigny Park hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily. Rider wristbands will allow access to the venue starting at 12:30 p.m. CST on Monday, December 6. If a rider would like to access the park before noon on Monday, they will be charged $5 by the park as per the park’s entry policy. Riders will not be allowed on course prior to noon on Monday.

Also, please note that the park has a no dogs policy, unless the dog is a registered service animal. There is also a policy against open flames and drone usage in the park.
