Cycling Vlaanderen has announced that all its races through March are canceled due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
It also said its regional sportives are canceled until April 19th.
Update: It has now canceled its April professional races, including the cyclocrosser’s favorite road races, the Tour of Flanders and Ghent Wevelgem.
Professional sports cancellations should surprise no one. On Wednesday, the NBA suspended its entire season due to COVID-19.
These cancellations add to the ever-growing list of cycling cancellations and postponements, which includes Strade Bianche, NAHBS and Sea Otter.
