Friday’s Trek CX Cup kicked off the the first of two days of UCI racing. The Junior Men were the first UCI event of the weekend.
Belgian Thibau Nys (AA drink jongerenteam), Nick Carter (KCCX Elite Cyclocross) and Andrew Strohmeyer (CXHairs Devo – Trek) escaped to an early lead until Nys took flight and opened up a small gap on the two Americans.

Nys had spent some time at the venue with his father, and it appeared to pay off.
Nick Carter escaped Strohmeyer for second.
