Handske Cycling Gloves

Historically, gloves have been something I have not prioritized with the limited money I’ve had for bike gear. After getting the chance to review some nicer pairs of gloves in recent years, I can say that skimping on gloves is a bad choice, whether it be for cold-weather, wet-weather or summer riding.

One such pair of gloves are the Handske Cycling Gloves. If the name sounds familiar, we reviewed the Handske Windproof Gloves earlier this year and found them warm yet nimble and up to the task of racing in the heart of cyclocross season.

With a tag line of “No More Boring Gloves,” the Handske Cycling gloves feature a colorful array of options. The company sent us the Black Magic and Ross Piper models.

The Cycling Gloves are thinner than the Windproof gloves and have a shorter reach at the wrist. Although I typically opt for half gloves during warmer weather, the Handske gloves still breathed well during August cyclocross practices and early-season races.

The silicone aitches (that’s how you spell the letter H, for real) on the palm provided reliable grip even during wet and muddy conditions. The thumb features a terrycloth insert for wiping away sweat and mud.

The Handske Cycling Gloves retail for $35, but last year’s batch is currently on sale for $20.
