On Day 1 of the 2018 Jingle Cross UCI Cyclocross weekend, an international men’s field did not pass up the opportunity to sample Iowa mud and compete for UCI C2 points.
Under the Friday night lights, Diether Sweeck (Pauwels Sauzen-vastgoedservice), no stranger to U.S. podiums, escaped his more-accomplished brother Laurens’ shadow, and claimed victory in the eight-lap race ahead of Alois Falenta (Team Cross UCI Safir Ganova) and Stan Godrie (Crelan – Charles).
