Katie Compton (KFC Racing p/b Trek/Panache) powered away from the women’s field to lay claim to the 2016 Pan American Cyclocross Championship title.
After a brief challenge by Maghalie Rochette (Luna), Compton was unmatched and had a solo ride to take the Pan Am title on a hilly course in Devou Park in Kentucky.
Crystal Anthony (Maxxis Shimano) passed late in the race Rochette for second.
