In a rare Tuesday race, Wout van Aert (Creland Vastgoedservice) left no question as to who is the king of Koppenbergcross, going solo on the hilly, cobbled course to win the cyclocross classic.
Wout van Aert goes solo to win the 2016 Koppenbergcross – DVV Verzekeringen Trofee #2
Mathieu van der Poel suffered from a slow start, and after briefly rejoining the front of the race, never factored.
Newly crowned 2016 UEC European Cyclocross Champion Toon Aerts did his best to show off the jersey, being the last to hold on to Aert’s wheel before dropping off.
