Pro-Packed, 153-Deep Singlespeed Men’s Field to Contest the 2015 Singlespeed Cyclocross National Championships – Full Start List

AUSTIN, Texas — A whopping 153 singlespeed men will toe the line today at 4:00 p.m. to contest the 2015 Cyclocross National Championships. A quick scan through the start list below will reveal dozens of Elite Men racers who will be shedding the derailleurs and cables to contest one of the first national championships awarded in 2015. The event will easily be one of the largest fields of the week, and judging by the competition, one of the deepest fields before the Elite Men’s race on Sunday.

Colorado’s Tim Allen and Brady Kappius return to defend their gold and silver medals from last year, while pro men including Justin Lindine, Cody Kaiser, Adam Myerson and Andrew Reardon will try to spin and mash their way to a new stars and stripes jersey. Meanwhile, dedicated singlespeeder Craig Etheridge will attempt to overcome last year’s Nationals bad luck and have a go at the title.

Last year’s fourth place rider, William Iaia, will also be racing, and hopes to move up at least one place after getting out-sprinted for second and third.

Many older Elite/Pro cyclocross racers are used to competing in several races during the USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships. Now that USA Cycling has eliminated the ability to contest both Masters and Elite title races, many of the older Elite racers have opted to contest the singlespeed title race as a way to add in another race and check out the course  under race pace. Redline’s Lindine is one such racer. Will he trade in his Masters 30-34 title for a Singlespeed title?
