While the Junior Race in Koksijde saw American rider Gage Hecht take the win, the Belgian squad had a run of the gauntlet with the U23 race.
The team not only managed to pull together the top five for the race, but also took 12 out of 13 top placings, with Adam Toupalik of the Czech Republic taking sixth. Daan Soete took the win on the day, a great ride by a racer who has struggled to find a U23 podium this season even though he had a great sixth place showing in the Men’s Elite Race in CrossVegas. Diether Sweeck was able to cross the line seven seconds behind first place, managing to out-sprint Quinten Hermans who posted third at the same time.
