“This year was way harder.”

We here at Cyclocross Magazine are excited to be bringing you our annual Nationals reflections and winner profiles in our upcoming Issue 12. As we have done previously, this issue will spend some time with every winner, but this year we thought we’d take it a bit further here online and extend these profiles with a pile of video interviews we’ve been holding onto and give you a chance to learn more about the Stars and Stripes winners and their moments of glory.

With that in mind, we ask you to join us as we take some off-season time to celebrate our 2010 USAC cyclocross national champions in these post-race interviews, where we get to relive the high of victory through their eyes. Every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, we’ll be unveiling a new interview or two, covering everyone from the youngest grom to the most experienced Masters racer. Missed one? Check them all out on our Nationals Interview Page.

Today we bring you Masters Men 40-44 Winner Pete Webber. Last year, Webber (Boulder Cycle Sport) dominated the 40-44 field to win the 2009 National Championship easily, but this year’s competition had Webber in a locked battle with Jon Cariveau (Moots). Eventually Webber was able to establish a small gap, crossing the line half a minute ahead of his competitor.
